Our client is a vibrant and fun VPN service, recently acquired by a major player in global security software. They are looking for a UX/Product designer to help them shape the future of their mobile app and website.

This is a remote, 12-month contract role within Canada.

The Role

As a Product/UX Designer, you'll own the end-to-end design and optimization of the user experience across mobile (iOS and Android) and web platforms. You'll play a key role in developing and maintaining our UX guidelines and design systems, ensuring a consistent and delightful experience for our users. This is a 12-month contract role with the potential for extension or conversion to a permanent position.

Responsibilities

App & Web Design: Lead the design of intuitive and engaging user interfaces for our mobile apps (iOS and Android) and website.
UX Optimization: Conduct research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to identify areas for improvement and drive user engagement.
Design Systems: Develop and maintain UX guidelines and design systems to ensure consistency across all platforms.
Data-Driven Design: Utilize data and user feedback to inform design decisions and measure the impact of your work.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and marketers to ensure seamless execution of designs and alignment with business goals.
Platform Ownership: Take full ownership of the Android, iOS, and web platforms, ensuring a cohesive and delightful user experience across all touchpoints.

Skills We Require

3+ Years of Experience: Proven experience in designing user-centered interfaces for mobile and web applications.
Mobile & Web Expertise: Strong understanding of mobile design principles and experience designing for both iOS and Android platforms.
Design Systems & Guidelines: Experience in developing and maintaining UX guidelines and design systems.
User Research & Testing: Familiarity with conducting user research, usability testing, and A/B testing to gather insights and validate design decisions.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Marketing Acumen: Understanding of marketing principles and the ability to collaborate with marketing teams to drive user acquisition and engagement.
Subscription Business Experience: Familiarity with subscription-based business models and user engagement strategies. (Nice to have)
Brand Alignment: Appreciation for the fun and unique brand and the ability to create designs that resonate with our audience.

Bonus Points

Experience designing paywalls and optimizing conversion rates.
Experience with illustration and animation, particularly character animation.
Familiarity with UX elements and design frameworks within the mobile landscape.
