Principal Technical Program Manager

Our client is an innovation team working on development of new products and ideas within a  major US Healthcare System, currently hiring a full time, permanent Principal Technical Program Manager, who will work remotely from Canada.

The role is with their highly innovative product development and incubation team – building next gen tools to ensure patients have convenient and easy health care access anywhere, any time. Think of it as their in-house tech-startup and product incubator, with a track record of creating successful, funded spin offs.
This role will draw on your expertise and passion in bringing new products to life.

We seek a highly autonomous Principal Technical Program Manager to define and deliver complex, cross-organizational programs. You will define product/system strategy, leveraging a data-driven approach to influence stakeholders across functions. A broad understanding of organizational systems and technologies is essential.

You will invent, innovate, and simplify solutions, leading design and implementation efforts with internal teams and vendors. Balancing time-to-market with business needs and technical constraints, you will clearly communicate goals and responsibilities to cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong program management background, experience leading medium-to-large projects, and a solid technical foundation in current web technologies. You must thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment, driving strategic initiatives while also executing tactical tasks. You will anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations, make trade-offs, and break down complex projects into manageable pieces, delivering them on time. Strong leadership, judgment, negotiation, and analytical skills are crucial.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, identifying problems suitable for digital solutions.
  • Analyze problems from all angles, becoming a problem expert.
  • Propose and assess solutions, ensuring stakeholder understanding of implications.
  • Identify solution impact on other systems, workflows, security, and compliance.
  • Drive simple, maintainable solutions.
  • Ensure long-term program/product success.
  • Lead project management from requirements to implementation, including sprint planning and scrums.
  • Provide status updates and manage progress reports.
  • Ensure on-time project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years leading project teams delivering complex software (consumer-facing or enterprise), including Agile experience with distributed teams.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
